Phosphate is generally considered to be a plant nutrient that is conducive to splendid plant growth in the pond. However, too much of it can lead to increased algae formation. With our phosphate adsorber, you can reliably remove excess nutrients from the pond water.
Algae usually multiply explosively when nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate are out of balance. They enter the pond primarily through the excretions of the fish, but also through food residues. Therefore, the pond should be adapted to the number and size of the fish and the animals should be fed rather sparingly, also only moderate to missing pond planting can be the cause of high phosphate values. Therefore, measure your water values regularly in order to initiate prophylactic measures in time.
If you have algae problems, get to the bottom of the cause and take steps to eliminate it. Reducing the fish population can already be helpful, but also additional pond planting to reduce the introduction of phosphate.
Put the phosphate adsorber with a filter bag, like the one we carry in our store, into the pond filter, preferably in a place with a good flow. Measure the phosphate content of the pond water regularly and replace the filter medium if you notice a recent increase in PO4.
