For the special filter medium ADA Bamboo Charcoal Aqua Design Amano uses an elaborately cleaned, specially produced activated charcoal from bamboo, which has a firmer structure and a higher number of pores than conventional activated charcoal from other types of charcoal. It provides clear and clean healthy waterin aquascape and planted aquarium.

This activated carbon made of bamboo charcoal absorbs pollutants and toxic substances from aquarium water. The filter carbon removes drug residues, heavy metals, pesticides, ammonium, unpleasant water discoloration and other undesirable substances in the aquarium water, noticeably and effectively improving the water quality in the aquascape and aquarium.

If the bamboo activated carbon is exhausted, it can still be left in the filter. Its highly porous surface provides an excellent colonization space for the filter bacteria that break down pollutants. The coarse porous structure of the high-quality ADA Bamboo Charcoal also ensures good water circulation in the filter of the aquarium or aquascapes and prevents clogging.
